In Dortmund's Westpark, Jan Pawlak and Rosa Herzog stand in front of a large pool of blood, but there is no body. However, Andreas Richter, the head of a Dortmund real estate company, is missing. His business model has made him a number of opponents in Dortmund in recent years: he buys up properties in the Kreuzviertel and transforms shared apartments into sought-after luxury properties. In his personal life, he is currently divorcing his wife Natalia. She doesn't leave her husband in good stead either. While Inspector Peter Faber has not yet come to terms with the death of his colleague Martina Bönisch, is on sick leave and is more or less living in his old Manta, Jan and Rosa come across Faber's father Josef. He and Faber apparently haven't had any contact for decades. What happened between father and son and what does Josef Faber have to do with the case?
